Just as actors Yootha Joyce and Tommy Godfrey get their first starring or regular roles in classic TV comedies of the 1970s, ‘Man About the House’ and 'Love Thy Neighbour respectively', the Yorkshire Post enlists their popular appeal for a major advertising campaign. But here they shed their character traits as the sexually frustrated Mildred Roper, and Eddie's boozing companion Arthur, to bring a warm homely feel to a commercial aimed at widening the national appeal of a regional newspaper.
