A stray piece of amateur footage features plenty that's mundane, and something that's not
The scene captured on this stray piece of amateur footage features plenty that's mundane, and something that's not. It was filmed on a Biokam, a one-stop shop for amateur cinematographers that used 17.5mm stock - that is, half the size of standard 35mm film. It's possible, however, that this film was made to be distributed. A 1902 Warwick Trading Company catalogue supplement for Biokam films includes an entry: ""At the Zoo: Riding the Elephant."" Perhaps this film is not so naive as it looks.
