The Queen arriving at St Paul's
With 40 or so film companies attending Victoria's Jubilee, there are more tales of disaster than success. There are reports of several camera malfunctions and obscured views. RW Paul paid a lot of money to secure two camera positions in St Paul's and capture the arrival of the Queen: is this the film he was hoping for?
Despite griping in later years about his costs, it could have been worse. One enterprising filmmaker paid 50 pounds for a room overlooking the procession, only to discover a huge stand built immediately outside his window, with every seat in it sold out.
