The Mask
Personal exploration of identity and autism, with a splash of Al Murray.
Overview
Sharif Persaud takes us on a journey along a coastal path and into his personal experience of autism, all the while dressed in one of his favourite celebrity masks – Al Murray. He tells us about the questions he asks when he’s wearing the mask, his medical interests and what happened when his house caught on fire. When he arrives at a theatre in a neighbouring town he poses a few questions to Murray himself.
The film was produced by Screen South for the Ignition Random Acts scheme, a series of films celebrating England’s most exciting 16 - 24 year-old artists and filmmakers in partnership with Arts Council England and Channel 4.
