The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
The annual show in the market town of Kington in Herefordshire is an important one and the 1954 event seen here draws a large crowd. There's been rain before the show and filmmaker Frank Dale makes the right choice by parking his brand new Jaguar in town, thus avoiding the quagmire in the car park. The distinctive Hereford cattle are a local favourite and Mr Dale spends plenty of time filming his special passion: the show jumping display.
