Northampton Carnival
From bikes to biplanes: anything goes in Northampton's annual hospital fund-raiser.
From the collection of:

Overview
Elaborately decorated bicycles seem to have been a feature of 1930s carnivals and this one in Northampton, which is in aid of the local general hospital, is no exception. There's a 'bishop' and 'pearly king' in the parade as well as a gentleman in a stovepipe hat who has managed to build his own railway locomotive. The band even gets to travel by charabanc. This is a very special parade staged and enjoyed by the people of Northampton.
