Overview
Singing songs and reading books with paint on your face - the importance of playtime is beautifully captured in this colourful piece. Kitted out with a plethora of toys and games, a vibrant double-decker drives to areas in Wakefield where there are no play groups. As a charity project, the ‘70s Playbus scheme emphasises a need for more volunteers to make learning accessible to everyone.
The year of the film’s release marked the launch of the Playbus Association charity working in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The scheme aimed to support children and parents in remote areas at a cost of 25p for admission.
