An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
Rock 'n' roll arrived in Bishop's Castle in Shropshire giving a lift to the traditional town carnival. Jiving 'hep-cats' dance on one float and the Suez Skiffle Scuttlers are on hand for a satirical swipe at the political crisis that gripped the nation towards the end of 1956 - although their fez and Arab robe get-ups are likely to provoke a different response from modern viewers.
The person behind the camera for this reel of colour 9.5mm film remains a mystery.
