Overview
Witty animation, voiced-over by Philip Madoc, featuring a battered Czech (Slavicek), once an ambassador in Prague, now living on the streets of Cardiff with his all-seeing dog Scruffy. He tells the story of his lost Cold War love, Cindy doll Bronwen, from Ponty, who worked in a gallery (she "had heart and loved art") and asked him to introduce her to some dissident artists. Smitten, he discovered too late that there was more to Bronwen than met the non-canine eye.
Tracy Spottiswoode started out as an actor/designer and is now an award-winning writer, director and animator, producing work for stage, radio and television. ‘Codename: Corgi’, her first animation - with on-screen credits to the Dog Handler (Simon Quinn) and Andre of Bristol who provided Slavicek’s shoes - won Gold at the Chicago International Film Festival, a First at the Bradford Animation Festival, and 2 awards from BAFTA Cymru.
