Wreck Raisers
Four kids race against the clock to raise a sunken boat in this children’s adventure shot around Lyme Regis in Dorset
Overview
Four kids wrongly accused of sinking a boat do their best to raise the wreck and prove their innocence - while seeing off their rascally rivals, the Sea Devils - in this fast and furious wah-wah guitar-soundtracked 1970s adventure from the Children’s Film Foundation (CFF). Shot on location in Lyme Regis, West Dorset, this aquatic extravaganza is packed full of diving, sailing and seaside fun.
Versatile and prolific British actor Michael Balfour - seen here as the marvellously miserable Mr Trevor - had previously played a sinister seafarer in the 1964 CFF serial Five Have a Mystery to Solve. Shortly before Wreck Raisers he made an appearance in Pasolini’s The Canterbury Tales (1971).
