A VIP visit to Leeds pulls the crowds - the celebrity guest may be General French, hero of the Boer War.
The events of this film remain uncertain. It appears that two major lifeboat fundraising events were held in Leeds in 1902: one on 5 July (when Mitchell and Kenyon shot at least three rolls of film) and a 'Lifeboat Carnival' on 30 September - possibly the subject of this film - when Boer War hero General French stopped by. It may be him glimpsed in the first carriage following the mounted police.
