Moving theatre-set Christmas tale of a former dancer and her child
Overview
This moving, theatre-set Christmas story is an update of the traditional pantomime harlequinade, with the characters Columbine, Harlequin, Pantaloon and Policeman. It tells of a former dancer, her career cut short by a broken ankle, who works as a skivvy in a Pantomime theatre. On Christmas Eve she dances to entertain her child.
American-born director Harold Shaw was invited to the studio, London Films, to give a professional gloss to its productions.
