Tudor Driving Test
Betty Tudor is about to taker her ninth driving test in twenty-two years.
In partnership with:
Overview
Mrs Betty Tudor is in a Peugeot Talbot car and has been trying to pass her driving test in Exeter for 22 years. After 273 lessons, 9 different driving instructors, and 8 failed driving tests as well as being banned from one motoring school, Betty has found a car manufacturer’s sponsorship under a new sure pass scheme. Mike Whitmarsh reports and interviews Colin, her current driving instructor and Betty who is hoping to use to the challenge.
So if perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did, then this is the proof, if that is, nerves don’t get in the way. It’s probably best not to mention Betty’s late night job at the pub here, however there is a wider issue and one much dispelled of lately, an irrational thought that women cannot drive, now whoever came up with that idea?
