        Overview

A family spends its summer holiday on the English Riviera. The family is staying at the picturesque Osborne Hotel and using the beach huts on Meadfoot Beach. The Osborne Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Torquay and the Regency crescent is reminiscent of Bath and was commissioned by Sir Lawrence Palk and completed in 1848. The landscaped gardens and tennis court lead to Meadfoot Beach.

The family discovers Thatcher Rock and the London Bridge Natural Arch by boat. They also visit Cockington Forge, Goodrington Sands and the steam train running along the coast as well as Paignton Pier. A trip by car along the South Hams takes the family to Dartmouth where Dartmouth Castle and Britannia Royal Naval College are in evidence. They journey on to Plymouth and visit the Hoe and see Derry's Clock an iconic landmark that survived the Second World War. They cross the River Teign from Shaldon to Teignmouth by one of England's oldest passenger ferries and return home via King John's Hunting Lodge in Axbridge.
