Tiny Tots Parade at Chalkwell Park

Essex youngsters dress up for a fundraising event

1926 7 mins Silent

Overview

Essex youngsters don fancy dress for a fundraising event at Southend's Chalkwell Park - home in later years to Essex Country Cricket Club. A great deal of work has clearly gone into the costumes, and the adults are visibly proud of the results - even if some of the kids seem a bit overawed. One prize winner, a young lady in Dutch national costume with an impressive working scale-model windmill to match, is particularly glum-faced.

There's some nitrate damage in the early section of this film, but it's otherwise a fine piece of film for its age, and nicely shot, too, probably as a commission for local screening.
