The Spinnaker
A documentary made by and featuring legendary boat and sail designer, Austin 'Clarence' Farrar from Stutton in Suffolk
From the collection of:

Overview
The Spinnaker is the most exciting of all sails! Says Austin Farrar, the legendary boat and sail designer, and maker of this short film. The opening shot shows the billowing curves of the sail against the wind, propelling Farrar's racing yacht, the Zeelust II forward on the water. Scenes follow inside a workshop, to capture the process involved in making the sail. It seems many hands make light work as Farrar is seen kneeling, cutting the spinnaker fabric ready for sewing.
