The Silent House
Spooky house thriller directed by Walter Forde, replete with secret panels and snake-filled rooms.
Overview
Evil criminal Chan Fu sets out to wreak revenge on the Winsford family for past offences in this creepy mystery directed by erstwhile silent comedian Walter Forde. This was a prestige British production for the period, with no expense spared on the lavish interiors of the old dark house and the flashback sequence in which Chinese junks sail down the River Thames (standing in for the Far East).
This presentation of the film was digitised from a French print with French inter-titles. To enable optional English subtitles for the film, once it's playing select CC in the video playback bar (at the bottom of the screen) and select Closed Captions = On.
