Strings
A German exchange student begins an impulsive and ultimately destructive relationship with a shy British boy in her final weeks before returning to Munich and her warring family.
Overview
Strings follows four young people and their romantic endeavours in that blissful summer before they leave home to go to university. Grace (Philine Lembeck) is a visiting German student, soon to return home. She falls for the quiet, distant Jon (Oliver Malam), whilst her best friend Scout (Hannah Wilder) becomes entangled in an increasingly violent relationship with her long-term boyfriend Chris (Sid Akbar Ali).
Made for only £3000, this accomplished micro-budget feature was written, co-produced, directed, edited and shot by Robert Savage when he was just 17 years old. It was selected for Future Film Festival 6 in 2013 and went on to win the Discovery Award at the British Independent Film Awards.
