Staunton on Arrow Jubilee 1977
Silver Jubilee fun and games in a west Herefordshire village.

Overview
In the era of television's 'It's a Knockout' village carnivals became much more 'fun', as this example shows. With plenty of cross-dressing the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations at Staunton on Arrow in Herefordshire typify the light-hearted nature of June 1977. From a slow bicycle race to a hard-to-fathom event for older residents, the whole village came together at Old Court Farm. Even the local dogs got in on the fun with their own race thrown in for good measure.
The film was shot by Claire Burton who had been recording village events at Staunton on Arrow with her Bell and Howell camera since 1959.
