Overview

At Barr Beacon overlooking the town of Walsall the 3rd Walsall Sea Scouts have built a precarious looking bonfire to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V. Piles of tea chests and timber await the inferno in this short piece of film shot by sea scout master Leonard Stanley in 1935.

Leonard Stanley produced a series of films with the 3rd Walsall Sea Scouts under the banner of 'Kinescout Productions'. His most ambitious was an adaptation of Percy Westerman's Haunted Harbour shot over ten days on Anglesey in 1935. It runs for nearly 90 minutes!
