Overview

Steamships left Liverpool daily during the Edwardian era, heading for all parts of the world, especially the Empire. It was an emotional event for those departing - perhaps forever - and those watching loved ones go. For once, the filmmakers don't have to encourage onlookers to wave as the Allan Line's SS Mongolian departs for Canada. Some of them will have gone to see the film for a last look.
