SLR was produced for BFI Shorts 2012, a short film scheme managed by the Brighton-based arts and culture agency Lighthouse. The scheme was designed for emerging filmmakers in the UK to demonstrate their potential to make features. Since making the short, both director Stephen Fingleton (The Survivalist) and producer Matt Wilkinson (The Call Up) have graduated to feature film work.
