"Wherever there's a large gathering of students there's always a lack of principles," promises smooth-tongued narrator McDonald Hobley in this round-up of Sheffield's annual charity revelries. It's a lively day's events, from the parade's tattily decorous floats and costumes to the shambolic fun of the boat race. But there's little of the debauchery of later Rags, beyond a game damsel selling kisses for a shilling (rising to 2/6 due to increased demand), and some very student antics involving a bra and a fishing rod...
