        Overview

The story of Christmas is given an unusual twist in this enchanting footage, as Santa calls on the Northern Ireland Fire Association to help him make his seasonal preparations. Not only does the local fire station double as a toy factory, but the firemen are encouraged to take on the duties of Santa's elves and can be seen busily making toys for the children to receive on Christmas morning.

There are a number of delightful scenes to enjoy, including Santa arriving via the fireman's pole to greet his guests. Inside the Toy Making and Toy Painting departments, we see firemen colouring and crafting toys. The tour concludes at the Wonder Tour House, a treasure trove fit to burst with beautiful presents. This film was created by the Scottish amateur film maker J. W. Stirling during his time in Derry. It comes from the collection of National Museums Northern Ireland.
