Round and About (Part Two)
Sun-seekers at the Lido! Capturing scenery 'round and about' Herts and Beds during the summer of 1959; the second of two silent films with pleasing hand-created title cards.
From the collection of:

Overview
The second part of amateur filmmaker John Chear's full colour footage 'round and about' Herts and Beds; a leisurely visual tour of the public spaces and featuring the citizens who inhabit them during the summer of 1959. A summer noted for its longevity rather than its intensity, 1959 produced a benchmark summer against which subsequent seasons were compared. In turn Harpenden, Rickmansworth, Boreham Wood, Hatfield, Wembley, London Colney, and Dunstable are featured.
