Overview
An early sound film, using the De Forest Phonofilm process, featuring a song from Gounod's opera. This piece is sung by Otakar Marak, a Czech tenor who had specialized in Gounod's Faust, and Mary Cavanova, an American grand opera soprano more commonly known as Marie Cavan. They're singing at the piano, out of costume, in the style of other De Forest films - mostly recorded stage performances, so it would be unfair to expect them to resemble the principal characters.
