Overview

A woman sits in a battered building, assembling and disassembling a crutch with the precision of a trained solider. Commissioned as part of 14-18 NOW – an arts programme to commemorate the centenary of the First World War – internationally renowned choreographer Claire Cunningham invites us to consider both the constructive and destructive potential of the innovative tools we have invented. Eerie and potent, the production design evokes contemporary conflict zones while suggesting conflicts yet to be fought.
