Regally dressed children from the Nottinghamshire village of Rempstone enjoy a pre-war carnival parade.
This reel showing a carnival parade to celebrate the coronation of King George VI in 1937 was shot mainly in the grounds of Rempstone Hall near Loughborough. The film-maker was Mr Garfield who was chauffeur to the owner of the house, J.N. Derbyshire. An old soldier leads the parade followed by a dray horse transporting the village's very own King George and Queen Elizabeth followed by smartly dressed children who perform on drums and whistles in the grounds of the hall.
