Rambles Around East Anglia Part One - Great Yarmouth
Amateur filmmaker captures the hallmarks of both industry and tourism in Norfolk's popular seaside town of Great Yarmouth.

Overview
Novice filmmaker Brian Cheesman from Norwich enjoyed spending his free time capturing his native East Anglia with his 8mm camera. His collection consists of several reels with the titles ‘Old and New’, and ‘Round and About’, including this film from 1958, Part One of ‘Rambles Around East Anglia’, which doesn’t in fact venture outside the county of Norfolk, concentrating solely on Great Yarmouth, a seaside town with a rich history of both tourism and industry.
Cine enthusiast Brian Cheesman lived with his mother and father on Sewell Road in Norwich, until their deaths (f. 1959, m. 1993). He never married, or had any children, neither did he have any siblings. He was a regular in the congregation of the nearby Christ Church at the bottom of Constitution Hill, and was employed by Norwich Union Insurance throughout his entire working life. In his spare time, he enjoyed exploring his native East Anglia, or travelling overseas with friends from work or church, and capturing these day trips on 8mm film.
