Overview

Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips compete in the Equestrian Horse Show at South Molton in the hot summer of 1976. Princess Anne is the first member of the Royal Family ever to have competed in an Olympics and this was in Montreal in 1976 where she suffered concussion after a fall from her horse Goodwill about a month prior to this film. She has won two silver medals (1975) and one gold medal (1971) at the European Eventing Championships.

Captain Mark Phillips, a Dragoon Guardsman was a reserve member of the British Equestrian Team at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City and as part of the British three day eventing team, the three events being dressage, showjumping and cross country. Phillips went on to a team world title in 1970, and a Team Olympic Gold in 1972 Munich Olympics. In 1988 in Seoul South Korea he again won silver with the British team.
