Paradise

Short documentary using interviews and animation to explore how cinemas survived in Seoul thanks to the patronage of gay men.

As cinemas were shut down in Jongno, Seoul, a few discount theatres survived thanks to their patronage by gay men. Interviews and animation bring to life this golden era in the 1980s, when the area became a paradise for cruising and queer life.
