Parade on West End Pier Morecambe (1901)
Edwardian visitors promenade in front of the camera on sea-side pier.
Overview
Shown as part of a film programme at the beautiful Victorian Winter Gardens Theatre in June 1901, these scenes of happy holiday-makers dancing and doffing their hats to the camera have been carefully framed to ensure the maximum number of faces appear. Visible on the right hand side is a queue of people who are being directed by the exhibitors to turn around ready to make their screen debut.
