Overview

Around 20,000 spectators are in the stands at Trent Bridge on Whit bank holiday 1933, eager to watch Nottinghamshire play Surrey in sweltering heat. At end of play the large crowd gathers for a presentation to Harold Larwood and Bill Voce, recognising their services in Australia. The film also features Notts v Yorkshire and Notts v Hampshire matches, both from 1934, and Notts playing Yorkshire in 1936. Players seen walking onto the pitch include Douglas Jardine, William 'Bill' Bowes and Hedley Verity.

The caption at the start states that the presentation to Larwood and Voce was made on 6 June 1933, but The Times reports it taking place on the bank holiday, 5 June.
