Overview

Tom Keen ran an anti-Communist and anti-trade union organisation called the Campaign for a More Prosperous Britain. He was incensed that constant industrial action throughout the 1970s was, in his view, crippling British industry. Here we see him talking to Tony Maycock in Coventry with a small but symbolic protest against the strike by transport workers which had shut down production at British Leyland.

Tom Keen, who once took to the seas in a motor boat to protest against the arrival in Britain of a Soviet cruise ship, drifted out of the news after polling a paltry forty votes in the 1976 Coventry North West by-election.
