No need for x-ray specs – just sit back and enjoy the marvel of Röntgen rays. Over 30 years since their discovery by a German physicist and x-rays, as they are better known, were still a novelty to cinema audiences. Technical advances in radiography were vital for improving the safety and accuracy of x-ray devices – but these gimmicky newsreel shots are one of the healthier side effects.
