Mellor: Belper Processions

Children with flower garlands parade through the streets of Belper in Derbyshire.

Norman Mellor of Belper filmed this short reel of 8mm film showing parades in his home town. Children carrying flower garlands make their way along quiet streets to St Peter's church in the Derbyshire market town. The scouts that follow along Bridge Street have a few more cars to contend with but luckily a local policeman has turned out to help.
