London Line Colour No. 40
Wing-walking air stewardesses and giant sticks of rock feature in an eclectic TV magazine view of a not-so-swinging 60s London.
Overview
In the swinging 60s, this government-backed magazine show aimed at North American audiences served up a very eclectic mix of stories: the death of smog, air stewardesses atop biplanes, bonny 'rhesus babies' and traditional British 'candies'. Presenter Michael Smee - "your man in London" - cuts a jaunty figure compared to his starchy roving reporters: even a mouthful of seaside rock can't phase him.
