Overview
Archive film tends to take us back in time, but this epic home-movie portrait of Ilford presents the town's past, present and future, seen from the mid-50s. At 45 minutes, it's an ambitious local history project, laced with the perspective of auteur amateur filmmaker Bill Bland, co-founder of the Stalin Society and author of the first Albanian-English dictionary. Hold out for the Kodachrome climax.
