Funeral of Queen Victoria: Funeral Procession at Cowes
Images from the first leg of the solemn procession
Overview
This is the first known film of Victoria's funeral, showing the procession near its start, heading towards Trinity Pier in Cowes, the Isle of Wight. Travelling on foot are the mourners, amongst them Edward VII, Kaiser Wilhelm II and Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught. Does it just seem like it, or does everyone carefully avoid glancing at the camera?
