Overview

All the atmosphere of the traditional funfair is captured in this well-made film, which starts at Battersea and the Festival Gardens before migrating to other funfairs in the region. The filmmaker, John P. Mitchell, really makes an effort to record as many aspects of the funfair experience as possible and that includes filming from the rides themselves. But he also manages to capture the life of the fair, its characters and the varied faces of thrill-seekers, young and old.
