"Don't Forget Choose Your Doctor Now." With Monday 5th July 1948 - inaugural date of the new, free National Health Service - looming, this effective short public information trailer hammers home the urgency of citizens playing their part. The film was shown in cinemas in the run-up to the big day, as part of a wider media campaign.
This government film is a public record, preserved and presented by the BFI National Archive on behalf of The National Archives, home to more than 1,000 years of British history.
