Overview

A huge crowd gather around the edge of a field to await the arrival of a RAF Westland Wessex helicopter at Gilwell Park, world famous home of the Scout movement in this action packed film shot from the crowd (occasional audience heads and all!) After swooping in, soldiers disembark down ropes and run backwards and forwards in front of the crowd. the demonstration ends as the troops climb back onboard the helicopter and it launches into the sky.

The film ends with a curious reenactment as four boy scouts, dressed as native Americans, dance around and battle each other with tomahawks before pursuing one of them towards a nearby marquee. This film is from the collection of Vestry House Museum
