Display at Hurlingham by the 18th Hussars
Mounted cavalry wow the crowd with acrobatics, fencing and a frenetic pushball game.
Overview
The expert horsemanship of British Army royal cavalry regiment the 18th Hussars takes centre stage in this dynamic display at the Hurlingham sports club in south London. The riders perform jumping, acrobatics, fencing and a frenetic 'push ball' game - an equine-style football match - before a transfixed crowd. Looks out for one spellbound photographer, who gets a little too close to the action...
A few short months later the 18th Hussars would be rather differently deployed, serving on the Western Front during WWI.
