It's full steam ahead for the railways! Maps and moving diagrams jostle for attention in this enlightening educational film about the first 100 years of Britain’s rail network. The film speeds along, from modest beginnings during the Industrial Revolution, through the era of 'railway mania' in the 1840s, to the founding of the famous 'big four' railway companies – the Southern, Great Western, London Midland & Scottish and London & North Eastern.
