Cricket Again!

Essex County cricket team get some much needed practice in the nets at the County Ground, Leyton.

Non-Fiction 1922

Overview

The Essex County cricket team are at the nets at the County Ground, Leyton for some pre-season practice in the lovely April sunshine. The first County Championship match of the season was still a few weeks away and Essex would have been keen to improve on the 1921 season. Long-serving John Robert Freeman and club secretary Noel Wilkinson roll up their sleeves for a bit of batting. Wilkinson looks a bit rusty and the cameraman captures a lovely medium pace delivery hitting the middle stump.
