Coronation Celebrations in West Bromwich 1937

Street parties, parades and those all important Union flags are in abundance as the people of West Bromwich come together to mark the Coronation of a new King in 1937.

The highlights of this uncredited reel of Coronation festivities in West Bromwich happen away from the formal council celebration held in Dartmouth Park with its gun salute and spit roasted meat. Away from that pomp we get to see ordinary people putting out flags and bunting in terraced streets, now long gone. And there's the proud girl posing for the camera with her recently received Coronation medal.
