Congregation Leaving St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral, Dublin (1901)

Dublin's Catholic faithful wend their way home after Sunday service.

Non-Fiction 1901 2 mins Silent

Overview

The very tight shot means we don't get to see much of the magnificent St Mary's cathedral, but we get so close to the densely-packed congregation that we can almost read their thoughts. The prospect of being filmed seems to cause considerable excitement and curiosity among the dignified churchgoers - from every layer of Dublin society - who glance at the camera or stand transfixed before it.
