Cinemagazine No. 8

Shell stories from around the world feature in their corporate news magazine for 1946.

1946 11 mins

Overview

Shell produced their own corporate news cinemagazine after the war to chart development of the company and boost morale for the postwar rebuilding of Britain, which they wished to be associated with. The launch of two new Shell tankers brings their fleet back up to its pre-war strength of 170 vessels. A jovial tale of a photographer's efforts to get a prize pig to pose for him makes the cut, as does an item on the breeding of horseflies for experiments with insecticide.
