Overview

Three children use a map drawn by Isaac Taylor in 1750 as a guide to discover what has changed in their home town of Wolverhampton. Filmed in the early 1960s this educational film shows a town on the brink of a future dedicated to the car. Their journey is typified by the town's famous Molineux Hotel. It would be a rare survivor allbeit cut off from the town centre by the inner ring road which was then beginning its remorsless growth.

The two coaching inns on Dudley Street that feature in this film: the Coach and Horse and the Swan and Peacock, did not survive the 1960s.
