Spanning from 1897 to the present day, the films in the Digital Film Archive cover all aspects of life in Northern Ireland and includes everything from dramas to documentaries, newsreels and features, animation to amateur footage.

Put another potato in the pot, we've got visitors. Meet the people catering for the increasing flood of tourists. Find out how local companies ensure a pleasurable stay for Northern Irish holidaymakers. See inside the kitchens and training schools of some of the region’s iconic establishments including the Portrush Hotel and Catering College, Derry's City Hotel and the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. Perhaps you too will be tempted to a career catering for people.
This film provides not only provides an overview of Northern Ireland's hospitality infrastructure and the facilities on offer, it also provides details on the various roles within the industry and provides practical advice on how to obtain the skills and experience necessary to find employment within the sector. This film was produced by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. This government department was particularly busy in the mid-1950s to late 1960s, creating films that aimed to sell Northern Ireland as a holiday destination.
